FIRST SUNDAY OF ADVENT SEASON
In the liturgical calendar, Mother Church has set aside six major seasons to remember and celebrate the life of Jesus on earth through which we have been liberated from the slavery of sin and death for eternal life. These seasons are Advent, Christmas, Lent, Easter, Pentecost and the ordinary time of the year. Advent is a time of preparation for the second coming and the birth of Christ. On the First Sunday of Advent, we begin the first part of the liturgical year.
